President Scholarship
The Ministry of Education and Sciences of the Russian Federation has opened the call for applications for its study abroad competition that is available for undergraduate and graduate students for the 2012/13 academic year.
Russian citizens, who have received recommendations from scientific councils of educational institutions of higher professional education and having achievements in basic and applied research in the fields of science, culture and art are eligbile to apply. The scholarship pays for about 40 undergraduate and 60 graduate students to pursue one academic year of education abroad, with priority given to those who have publications in Russian or foreign peer-reviewed scientific journal; have a patent application for invention, utility model or industrial design; or hold a laureate diploma of international or Russian competitions. The Republic of Tatarstan has been implementing a program for its citizens to study and complete internships in Russian and foreign educational and scientific organizations.

The grant covers expenses for Master's degree education up to 2 years or an internship up to 3 months and includes tuition costs, travel from Kazan to place of study and back, accommodation and a monthly stipend. Grant applicants who plan to study at American universities should apply through American Councils for International Education.
